Lionel Messi has scored for his new club on social media before he has even kicked a ball.

As the news broke about the move to Inter Miami CF his new team’s Instagram account soared from one million to 7.8 million – a staggering 680 % increase.

His former team, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG),suffered a thrashing in the Instagram

stakes. Its followers dropped from 68.9 million to 67.7 million, representing a

decrease of approximately 1.74%.
