Liverpool’s Multiple Triumphs Top Owner’s Career

Liverpool’s multiple triumphs over the last 14 months have been the highlight of the career of the club’s principal owner John W Henry, exceeding even his great successes with the Boston Red Sox.

Since June last year, Liverpool has won several major titles, including the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. The clincher was to win the English league title after a wait of some 30 years.

Liverpool’s multiple triumphs compare to the famed US baseball team, the Boston Red Sox, who won the World Series in 2004 after a gap of more than 80 years and had more victories in 2007, 2013 and 2018.

“The fact that we are champions of England, champions of Europe, the Club World Cup, the Super Cup is just an extraordinary accomplishment by this organisation and by these players,” he told liverpoolfc.com.

“To be involved with that, to have been a part of it, has really been the capstone of my career and I think all of us who have been a part of Fenway Sports Group,” he said.
