I Spent $85,000 on a Pink Monkey! Here’s Why I Invest in NFTS!

Why do I invest in NFTS? The answer is likely not what you were expecting!

Now that you have seen it, you may recognise my monkey. Not just any monkey, but a Bored Ape! If you haven’t seen this specific one, I’m sure you have seen a variant of it somewhere – even if you didn’t know what you were looking at the time.

Now that you know it’s a Bored Ape, you probably figured out why it cost me $85k. Is it a good deal? Well, in terms of direct investment value, the jury is out on that for now. But it has certainly generated some strong and divisive opinions on social media

The crypto enthusiasts tell me I have got the deal of the century. The non-crypto people are telling me I am a lunatic who has ‘wasted’ the price of a small house, or a decent car, on an image that anyone can replicate.

Both camps make their points, and only time will tell who is right. But the truth is that I don’t care if it goes up or down – because I am NEVER SELLING IT! Yes, you heard that right. I am NEVER selling it.

‘Why?’ I hear you ask. Because I never bought it with the view of its price changing.

So how am I going to make money if the price never changes? Why invest in NFTS in the first place?

Anyone who follows me knows that I am the world’s biggest advocate for the power of networking. My network quite literally has changed my life and is directly attributable to many of my greatest success stories.

I am ALWAYS adding to my network and strengthening the relationships in it. (You can check out some of my videos on Youtube if you want my top tips on how to be a power networker.)

But the important point for relevance here is that before you can build a relationship with somebody, you actually have to meet them in the 1st place. And the more successful that person is and the more influential they will be for you, then the more difficult access to them is likely to be. 

But I don’t mess around waiting and hoping that great people will fall in my lap. I seek them out and I do whatever it takes to get access to them. 

I PAY FOR PROXIMITY.

Luxury Hotels. Exclusive events. Charity dinners. These are just a few places where successful people can be found. But for me, those kinds of venues are entry-level! I like to target and network on steroids! I want the most sought-after opportunities and venues in the world, where the calibre of people is at its highest and the accessibility is even more exclusive.

Clubs that require large fees for entry or ownership of exclusive assets for access are the next level up. A private members club like Annabel’s in London or a track day for Lamborghini owners is great for meeting interesting and successful people. Drop me off at a Patek Philipe owners’ dinner and I’m in networking heaven!

The World’s Greatest Club!

And for me, that is what my Bored Ape is. Entry to another club. 

But this club is a global club for people who own 6 & 7-figure digital assets. People like Timbaland, Eminem, Mark Cuban, Neymar Jr, Jimmy Fallon, and Paris Hilton to name but a few. With 10,000 Apes in circulation, there are even more names you will never have heard of: tech entrepreneurs, teenage millionaires, crypto investors, wealthy collectors and more.

And that is why I don’t care how the price of the Bored Ape fluctuates because even if it goes down, I am still a member of the club – and that membership is a lot more valuable to me than the $85k I paid – because now I get to sit alongside fellow Bored Ape owners, I back myself to build relationships that are much much more valuable.

To me, a Bored Ape isn’t just a digital asset with subjective investment value. I believe it is the key to one of the most exclusive clubs in the world! A club whose members are some of the most wealthy, influential, and well-known people in the world. People I want to meet. People I want to get to know. People I want to do business with. So I need my Ape to get me to them! And this, in turn, is great investment advice.

With me yet? Now, do you see why I think this could be the best $85k I have ever spent and why I believe it to return 10 times over – regardless of what happens in the crypto world?

With the opportunity to join fellow owners at meet-ups or start conversations with them online, I know that if I apply my usual networking logic and skills, then opportunities will fall into my lap.

But networking with other Bored Ape owners isn’t the only benefit here. Read on to see how I will benefit and be able to also grow relationships with people who aren’t in the club.

The Ultimate Digital Status Symbol!

The definition of a status symbol is ‘an object meant to signify its owners’ high social and economic standing’. These status symbols come in many different forms,  all shapes and sizes.

Cars. Houses. Jewellery. Boats. Artwork. Private Jets. On differing levels, these objects convey an image or perception of their owner. They make people curious, jealous and intrigued about their owners. And their owners aim to appear powerful, desirable, and superior.

As much as we may want to deny it and pretend that it is our love of fine Italian craftsmanship that caused us to buy a Ferrari or the story behind a particular artist’s brushstrokes that caused us to buy a well-known painting – the truth is more often than not quite different.

We buy the big house because we want our neighbours to be jealous and aware of our arrival. We buy the…

We are buying these assets as STATUS SYMBOLS.

And I believe the Bored Ape is the greatest digital status symbol there is. It will show me in a certain light, make me perceived in a certain way, and open doors that may otherwise be closed to me.

Status Isn’t Enough. Now It’s Time To Act!

It obviously isn’t enough to just be a member of a club or to be perceived in a certain way. You do actually have to do something with that membership and status you have. You have attracted the attention and had the door open – now you must make relationships and create opportunities.

At the time of writing this, I have only had my little pink pal for about 2 weeks. During this time, I have:

  • Reached out to various people I didn’t previously know who have commented on my social media in relation to my Bored Ape. It is irrelevant whether the comments were good or bad – I have attracted attention, and these people now know who I am. This has led to 3 or 4 decent phone calls with people who are potentially able to raise or introduce funds to my projects.
  • Had a meeting with a crypto expert who has given me some great ideas for marketing and alternative methods of raising funds.
  • Started to attract attention from a different audience than my usual followers and network.
  • Been invited to a dinner by a successful CEO who noticed me because of the purchase.

And I haven’t really even been trying. These have just been a few, almost passive, benefits over the last week or two. When I actually ramp up my efforts of actively seeking out potential targets to network with, I have no doubt that these stories and numbers will increase. And when I sit my Bored Ape alongside my Patek Philippe and my yacht, the benefits and opportunities will grow exponentially.

I don’t say any of that to sound like a dick or to show off. I am just talking facts and getting across the point of what status symbols and membership in exclusive clubs can do for you.

So What Does It Mean For You?

If you are reading this and can appreciate my logic and strategies, but haven’t got $85k to invest right now, don’t feel despondent. As with all my stories and messages, you need to put them into context for yourself. 

Am I telling you to go out and buy a Bored Ape immediately? Absolutely not! But what I am telling you is that your future success depends on the size and quality of your network, and to develop that network, you need proximity to those people. Exactly how you get that proximity is up to you and will depend on your own personal style and exact strategy – but without a plan, you will never get there.
