COVID-19 struck the battered cruise industry again today when Norwegian cruise line Hurtigruten announced a closure of its voyages.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit one of its cruise ships, infecting a total of 41 people, mainly crew but including five passengers, last month.

According to Daniel Skjeldam, CEO of Hurtigruten, “this is a serious situation for everyone involved. We have not been good enough, and we have made mistakes,”

Meanwhile, the Norwegian police have started an investigation while the company admitted that there had been failures in internal procedures.
