MY INVESTMENTS

My investment criteria is very straightforward. If you can’t explain your business in 20 seconds in a way that a child could understand, I’m not interested! It’s really that simple. 

If you’re looking for an investor who is easily swayed by ‘sexy concepts’, you’ve come to the wrong place. But, if you’re someone with a strong track record in a certain industry, are currently generating revenue (or have in the past) and need an investor who can bring more than just money to the table, I’m your man. 

My strength as an investor lies in my knowledge and experience in specific industries, particularly Finance, Retail, Leisure and Property. That is my ballpark. And I try to stick to it as closely as I can.

Whilst not completely opposed to new opportunities, I won’t venture into an industry that I don’t understand! I want to be involved every step of the way, and I can’t do that with one arm tied behind my back. 

As well as this, all potential investments must:

• Be UK based 
• Use at least 50% of the funding requirement for asset purchases or must be able to secure it again assets in the business
• Have a strong management team with demonstrable experience in the sector 
• Have great economics – particularly a strong gross margin
• Revenue generating  
• Scalable 

Most importantly, all investments must add more value to my life than just money. I want to be involved as much as possible, share my knowledge and help grow your business. If that’s not possible, it’s a no deal! But don’t worry, I’m not a micromanager – I’m just not going to give you my money and leave you to it, keeping my fingers crossed!
